Teeth whitening is one of our most sought-after cosmetic treatments. Over time your teeth can become stained or discolored for a number of reasons. With AAA Health Centered Dentistry, you no longer have to be embarrassed by your smile. We offer a variety of whitening options to help our patients achieve whiter and brighter smiles.
We have been giving patients in Longmont, Mead, Hygiene, Niwot, and other nearby communities whiter smiles for over 22 years. Dr. Becvar and one of his team members will work with you to determine the best whitening option for your desired results.
Why aren’t my teeth white?
Life can be hard on your teeth. Despite proper oral care, for some individuals staining or discoloration is inevitable. Your teeth may not be as white as they once were because of:
Contact with certain foods or drinks
Excess fluoride during tooth development
Regardless of how your teeth got discolored, AAA Health Centered Dentistry can help your smile look better and whiter than ever before.
How can I whiten my teeth?
We offer a variety of teeth whitening options, including at-home and in-office treatments.
Below are whitening options that can be done in the comfort of your own home:
A whitening toothpaste is the easiest to incorporate into your oral routine. You can swap your toothpaste for a whitening one and use as directed. Aside from sensitivity, you won’t suffer from side effects since whitening toothpaste uses a polishing agent instead of chemicals.
This option won’t whiten your teeth as dramatically as other treatments, especially those done in-office. You should notice a gradual difference within days or weeks. Whitening toothpaste can be conveniently purchased at your local store. Be sure to look for the American Dental Seal of Acceptance since not all whitening toothpaste meets their standards.
Whitening strips can also be purchased at a store. To protect your teeth from sensitivity or discomfort, it’s important to use as instructed on the packaging.
AAA Health Centered Dentistry can create trays for you to wear at home. All you have to do is place a whitening agent on the tray and keep them on for a certain amount of time as directed by Dr. Becvar or one of our staff members. Times may vary with different trays.
If you want faster and more dramatic results, in-office treatments may be a better option to obtain your desired look. Our staff is able to whiten your teeth quicker and more drastically with higher doses of peroxide than you can at home with toothpaste or trays. In order to protect your gums during in-office whitening treatments, we may use rubber or put a gel on them.
How do I take care of my teeth after a whitening treatment?
When using whitening products, it’s important to only use as directed. Store-bought treatments will have instructions printed on their packaging. If you choose dental trays or in-office whitening, we will discuss how to properly care for your teeth before you begin whitening of any kind. It’s common to feel some sensitivity in your teeth or gums especially when you begin whitening. You should contact us if sensitivity or discomfort continues.
